Prompts Library (Power User)
The Prompt Library is a Power User feature in Coheso that allows you to save and manage frequently used queries for quick reuse.
Coheso’s Prompt Library allows Power Users to save and reuse frequently used queries for their AI assistant. Instead of typing repetitive questions each time, Power Users can create a library of Prompts. The following guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough for creating prompts in the library and using them in the chat interface.

Creating and Managing Prompts
From the Coheso chat interface, navigate to the Prompt Library section in the left side panel. Clicking Prompt Library opens the Prompt Library view, where you can add, modify, or delete saved prompts for your organization.
This option is only visible to Power Users.

In the Prompt Library view, you will see any existing saved prompts listed. To add a new prompt, click the Create New Prompt button. This will bring up a form where you can enter the details of the new prompt you want to save.

A Create New Prompt dialog will open. In this dialog, enter a descriptive name for your prompt in the Prompt Name field. Choose a title that clearly reflects the prompt’s purpose, as this name will be what users see and select in the prompt dropdown within the chat interface.

Select the Mode for the prompt based on its function. Coheso supports two modes: Q&A and Summarize. If the prompt will be used to answer questions, leave it in Q&A mode. If the prompt is meant to summarize documents or text, choose Summarize mode. It’s important to set this correctly, as the mode determines how Coheso’s AI will interpret the prompt.

Use the Prompt Text field to input the content of the prompt, essentially, the instructions or question you want the AI to use whenever this prompt is selected. This can be a question, a task description, or multi-part instructions. The text you enter here will later appear in the chat input when a user selects this prompt.

Once you have provided a Prompt Name, selected a Mode, and written the Prompt Text, click the Create Prompt button to save the new prompt. This will add your prompt to the organization’s prompt library.

After saving, your new prompt will now appear in the Prompt Library list alongside any pre-existing prompts.

To manage existing prompts, use the icons on the right side of the prompt list. You can click the pencil edit icon next to a prompt to modify its name or text, or click the red delete icon to remove the prompt from the library.
Note: Deleting a prompt will remove it for all users in your organisation.

Using a Saved Prompt in Chat
When you are finished managing prompts, close the Prompt Library view to return to the chat interface. Click the Close (X) icon at the top-right of the Prompt Library window. The Prompt Library view will close, taking you back to the main Q&A chat screen where you can now use the newly saved prompt.

In the chat interface, you can now apply your saved prompt into a conversation. Click on the prompt dropdown menu to expand the list of available prompts. You should see your newly created prompt listed. Click on your prompt’s name to select it from the dropdown.

Note: If you do not see your prompt in the dropdown list, ensure that you have the appropriate chat mode selected. Prompts are filtered by their mode – a Q&A type prompt will only show up when the Q&A tab is active, and a Summary prompt will appear only when the Summary mode is active. For instance, if you saved a prompt under Summary mode, you need to click the Summary toggle in the input area to find it in the Select prompt dropdown.

Once selected, the prompt’s text will automatically populate in the chat input box. At this point, you may modify or add to the prompt text if needed, and you can utilize other features like Document Drill Down to focus the AI on specific documents if relevant. When you are ready, press the Send button to submit the prompt - Coheso’s AI assistant will then generate a response based on your prompt.
