Get Instant AI Answers to Your Questions
This guide demonstrates how to use Coheso’s AI assistant to get instant answers to your questions using your organization's documents.
Coheso’s platform features an AI-powered assistant that enables you to ask questions and receive answers based on your organization’s documents. It simplifies routine inquiries by leveraging internal policies, contracts, playbooks, and other documentation. All responses are grounded in your actual documents and include links to the source material for verification.
Start a New Q&A Conversation
After you sign in to the Coheso AI chat interface, you’ll be greeted with a welcome message and prompted to start a new conversation by typing your question. This is the starting point for asking Coheso’s AI a query using the available documents. After typing your question, click the Send button to submit it to the AI.
Review the AI Answer
The AI responds with an answer in the chat, with numbered citations that link directly to the source documents supporting each statement. The Evidence panel on the right indicates the documents from which the AI found the supporting information. Each citation number corresponds to a snippet in the evidence list, helping users trace every part of the answer back to its original source.
Examine the Supporting Evidence and Open the Source Document
To see the source of the AI’s answer, you can click on a footnote number in the answer or the document name in the Evidence panel. In the evidence list on the right, each item (numbered 1, 2, 3, etc.) shows an excerpt from the documents that relates to the question. These evidence snippets let you see exactly which part of the document the answer came from allowing you to verify and read the exact passages that the AI used to formulate its answer, providing transparency and supporting detail.
Clicking on the document name in the Evidence Panel will open the source document.
Navigate within the Source Document
If you want to read the source in full, click on a document name in the Evidence panel. The source document will open in a viewer (in a new tab) for you to review. In this document viewer, the most relevant passages are highlighted and listed on the left side for quick reference, and the document’s content is displayed on the right side.
Within the document viewer, you can click on any passage in the left-hand panel to jump directly to that section in the document. This is helpful if the document is long - the viewer will scroll to the exact place where that snippet appears and often highlight it in the text. You can now read the full context around the excerpt that was used to answer your question.
Ask Follow-up Questions if Needed
You can continue the conversation by asking follow-up questions in the same chat if needed. Simply type your next question in the message input box and press Enter.
Start a New Conversation for a New Topic
If you want to inquire about a completely different topic, it’s recommended to start a New Chat. You can click on the New Chat button on the left sidebar to begin a fresh conversation.
